Department of Zoology is one of the pioneer & prestigious department of the JCD. The Department offers UG Courses according to CBCS and NEP 2020. The meritorious history of the department of zoology began way back in 1981, since the establishment of the college.
Academic
- We provide core course in zoology hons.
- The department is soon going to bring add-on-course in Apiculture and sericulture training.
Course Details.
- B.Sc. in Zoology (CBCS Mode)
- This is the three year course consisting of six semesters.
- This course is designed to provide an opportunity to impart knowledge in recent advances in zoology.
- B.Sc. Zoology (NEP 2020)
- We are imparting B.Sc. Hons in zoology according to NEP since 2022.
- This is the four year course consisting of eight semesters
- This programe is designed to inculcate interest in students about the rich diversity of animals, systematics, developmental biology , cytology, bio-chemistry , immunology, genetics, wildlife , molecular biology.
Personal Information
- I have completed my Ph.D. from VBU Hazaribag in year 2018.
- My Filed of Specialization is Entomology.
- I have published at research papers in UGC care listed journal.
- I am the member of zoological society of India.
- I Have participated in many seminars and FDP.
Objective of the Department of Zoology
- To impart quality education , both inside and outside the classroom.
- To Develop problem solving skill and encourage students to carry out research projects.

- Encouraging students to watch useful studies videos on UNACADEMY , MOOC online classes , NEPTEL and other online classes.
Activities
- Various Programmes / Seminars are being conducted frequently by the Department of Zoology.
- Frequent visit for field study and for research projects are being carried out.
